Vanishing Voices brings rare medieval repertoire into dialogue with endangered oral traditions, from the UNESCO-protected Song of the Sibyl and Corsican paghjella to Old Roman chant, Greek laments and nearly extinct Karelian singing traditions.
Through prophecies, ancient storytelling, rituals of mourning and songs of the harvest, Idrîsî Ensemble explores how communities have preserved memories, knowledge and ways of understanding the world across generations.
These traditions are living expressions of resilience, freedom and imagination, offering new ways of understanding our histories and finding meaning in the world today.
