Medieval Music in the Dales Festival 2026 explores repertoires from the medieval Margins - geographically, culturally and socially.

Idrîsî Ensemble will appear in two concerts. ‘Singer and Scribe’ places medieval repertoire in direct dialogue with living traditions, asking what each can illuminate in the other. Known for a research-led approach that reconsiders inherited practices within early music, the ensemble explores medieval sound worlds alongside oral traditions that preserve, transform and extend them. The Ensemble will also be appearing alongside Ensemble Sibil.la, and offering workshops and talks throughout the weekend’s Festival.
